DISH Network has done it again. DISH Network has combined even more of the amazing VOOM programming and added to their HD package lineup. Now DISH Network's HD pack, including all new VOOM channels, offers 30 channels in HD for you to enjoy. Comparison tip: DIRECTV has less than 10.

DIRECTV's High Definition service is more for those who enjoy regular programming but would like the option for viewing in HD. An option to purchase the pricey NFL Sunday Ticket® and its HD counterpart are also available for a top price.

A few things to consider:
1.) You must have an HD compatible TV to receive HD TV. An HD receiver cannot upgrade your television.

2.)DISH Network offers two new models for HD, the 411 and the 211, for best compatibility within your area. DIRECTV offers one receiver and the basic HD retails at $199. DIRECTV plans to make all existing DIRECTV HD receivers obsolete by switching to MPEG4 broadcasts that do not support the existing receivers (including the new H10). DIRECTV requires an upgrade to view HD with the MPEG4 signal.

3.) DISH Network will also be upgrading its signal to the superior MPEG4 compression but the new 411s and 211s are already compatible. The transition will flawless through DISH Network in comparison to DIRECTV's action plan.
