The Flex Pack is part of our 2-Year TV Price Guarantee promotion.

What is the Flex Pack and what is new about it?

As the name suggests, DISH has developed a package that is "flexible" (get it?) in its channel offerings. The $39.99 price includes the base channels listed above, along with your first channel pack. You are required to have at least one Channel Pack. The default selection is the Local Pack ($10/mo), but you can trade that out for any of the other Channel Packs that you want, or add any number of additional Channel Packs. You can add or remove any of these Channel Packs at any time, as you please, giving you flexibility over the channels you have access to (but you must always keep at least one).

What is a Channel Pack?

A Channel Pack is a small and focused collection of channels bundled together by a theme. For instance, the Locals Pack includes your local channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, etc ...), the Kids Pack includes channels for kids (Disney, Animal Planet, Boomerang, etc ...), the New Pack adds news channels (like FOX, MSNBS, CNBC, Bloomberg, etc ...), the Action Pack includes sports and games (ESPN, FOX Sports 1, AXS TV, Fuse, etc ...), and so on. Channel Packs can now be added to many of our channel packages, not just the Flex Pack.
