Welcome.
Below we will describe certain terms and guidelines that apply to new residential customers signing up for DISH Network satellite TV service through Satellite Solutions Network, Inc., and authorized retailer sales partner for DISH Network. We will also outline some common misconceptions and explain some of the methods used in this market.
The best way
The best way to fully understand all the details and guidelines associated with Dish Network satellite TV service is to call, or chat with one of our live representatives. You will see the appropriate phone number at the top of this website, or a chat button off to the left. Please feel free and comfortable contacting us. We will happily answer your questions, walk you through the ordering process, or provide you with contact information if you need to think about your decision to switch and get back to us.
Programming Prices and Service Fees
All programming prices and other associated monthly service fees come directly from DISH Network. Satellite Solutions Network, Inc. (SSN) or any other dealer for that matter, does not have the ability / authority to alter programming prices or service fees in any way. If you are getting conflicting information from other dealers it is likely that they are not explaining all of the details to you.
Promotions
Generally when ordering satellite TV service (or any service through a dealer) there are two types of promotions. The first type of promotion is the Service Provider's promotion, the second is the customer incentive promotion offered independently by the dealer, or can be referred to as the Dealer Promotion.
In the case of DISH Network satellite TV service the dealer has no authority to change or alter in any way the Service Provider's promotion. It is advisable to do business with the dealer that has the best customer incentives. And we guarantee the most competitive customer incentives on the market.
Monthly fees and service charges
When signing up for DISH Network satellite TV service your payments are broken down into categories:
Base programming
The base programming charge is the payable charge for the programming package you select (Classic Bronze 100, Classic Silver 200, DishFamily, etc). The advertised price will often times reflect promotion discounts and not include tax and other available services (such as local channels, additional rooms of service, international programming, or premium movie packages) unless otherwise indicated.
Tuner Limitations
Each account is permitted a total of 4 tuners. Each account is allowed a maximum of 3 HD Receivers. Some requests for additional receivers may fall outside of the scope of the promotional offer and will require an upgrade fee.
Additional Room fees / Outlet fees, Receiver Types, and phone line discounts
Your base programming fee covers service in 1 room on 1 TV (1 tuner). The word tuner refers to the receiver's ability to 'tune' or deliver signal to 1 TV.
There is a $5 per month charge for the second and each additional tuner ($7 if the tuner is HD).
A single tuner will tune 1 TV. A dual tuner will tune 2 TVs.
There is a discount on the additional tuner fee if you plug your dual tuner satellite TV receiver into a phone line. This is how it works: • Let's start with the basic example: If you have 2 rooms of service and a dual tuner receiver that is not plugged into a phone line you will pay an additional $5 a month to cover the second tuner on your account (the first tuner is covered by the base programming charge). However; if you plug that receiver into a land-based phone line the $5 additional charge for the second tuner is waived.
Here is a more detailed example:
If you have three rooms of service, one dual tuner (operating TVs 1 and 2) and one single tuner operating TV 3 and the dual tuner is plugged into a phone line then you will only be charged $5 for the tuner on TV 3. The phone line being connected to the dual tuner discounts the second TV attached to it.
Single tuners are not eligible for the phone line discount.
If you have service on four TVs and have two dual tuners, if each one is plugged into a phone line then you will only pay an additional $5 a month for TV 3 (because it is the second receiver on the account). TVs 2 and four would not be charged the additional $5 if both dual tuning receivers are plugged into a phone line.
The live representative that sets up your account will advise the equipment configuration that serves you the best and saves you the most money per month.
Local Channels
Some customers do not want their local channels and local channels are not available in all markets. For those reasons DISH Network does not build the price of local channels into the base programming price and instead allows the customer to add the locals for a $5 per month charge.
If you want your local channels add $5 dollars a month to your bill calculation, or use our smart online ordering tool. It calculates everything for you automatically.
Additional and Special Programming
In some cases customers order premium movie channel packages, international packages, a la carte channels, Pay Per View movies, or additional sports programming, et cetera. All of these services are billed monthly and have separate monthly charges that are taxable and are not included in the base programming price.
High Definition Programming (HD)
DISH Network offers the best high definition programming in the TV market. They offer a competitive number of national HD channels & local HD channels and are constantly striving to grow this service. You can add HD programming to any of the Classic packages for only $10 per month. Additionally, DISH Network offers stand-alone HD packages known as TurboHD.
DVR (Digital Video Recorder)
Dish Network offers a DVR receiver upgrade free for new customers. However; digital video recording is a service provided by Dish Network that interfaces with your advanced DVR tuner. This service gives you full DVR capability on 1 or 2 TVs which include: pausing and rewinding live TV, fast forward through recorded programs, and the ability to easily schedule the recording of all of your favorite shows with a few simple clicks on your remote! One of the best and exclusive featurs of this technology is that if your DVR receiver is running two TVs (standard to mst orders) then both TVs have access to the recrded programs. You cannot get this type of service from anyone other service.
There is a $5.98 monthly service charge associated with each DVR receiver.
The most popular DVR receiver is a dual tuner and will operate two televisions with independent DVR services. If you choose to pay the one-time upgrade fee to get a second dual tuning DVR, you will have to pay an additional $5.98 per month for the extra 2 rooms of DVR service.
Applicable Taxes
All prices advertised on this website do not include applicable taxes.
Certain states have separate taxes specifically set aside for satellite TV services. We are not provided a list of state or local taxes so please consult your state / local legislature for this information.
