- What is Video on Demand service?
Video on Demand, of VOD, is a service that allows you to select from a variety of movies, events, and TV shows and watch them whenever you want. It is very similar to your DVR except that you do not have to record the events. You choose from a menu of available content that is accessible directly through your DISH DVR receiver.
- What receivers are compatible with Video on Demand?
VOD is Available on 512 (SD/DVR), 522, 612, 622, 625, and 722, 722k DVR, 922 receiver models. You don't need to worry about selecting the appropriate receiver model. When you place an order with one of our reps, whether it be over the phone, on the chat, or with our online ordering system, we select the appropriate receiver configuration. If you are specifically concerned with VOD availability, please indicate that to the rep that assists you.
- How do I get VOD service with DISH?
VOD service is available to all DISH Network customers that have a compatible receiver and connect that receiver to their home's broadband High Speed Internet connection.
- How do I access VOD service once I'm a DISH customer?
Once your compatible receiver is connected to a high speed Internet connection accessing VOD content is extremely easy! There are several ways to do it. There is a specific channel (1, or 501) designated to selecting new release movies on Demand. Or you can press the DVR button on your remote control. In this menu you will see "DISH Cinema" as a selection, which allows you to access new movies, and you'll see a "TV Shows" option that allows you to browse all the channels in your package that offer programming on Demand.
- How is DISH Platinum related to Video on Demand?
DISH platinum is DISH Network's premium HD channel package add-on. This package includes channels, like Epix and Epix 2, that boast an incredibly vast library on VOD content. When you subscribe to DISH Platinum not only will you get excellent live programming, but you will be expanding your VOD library by a significant amount.
- Is VOD available on the SlingAdapter?
Yes. You can access live programming, DVR content, and Video on Demand service via the Sling Adapter.
- Will I have access to all of the VOD Channels with any package?
No. The channels you have access to are always related to your programming package subscription. For instance, if you have a subscription to the DISH America package, you will get VOD channels like A&E and SyFY, but not something like AMC, or G4 which are available in different packages.
